'Gift of Enlightenment' has been developed by husband
and wife team David and
Annette Martin, co-Directors of new publishing company
Veritas Productions. Annette
is a Fine Artist and Karuna Reiki Master who has
worked closely with her angels and
spirit guides on the creation of much of the material
to be found in the game. David's
background is as a former Director in the computer and
video games industry, a
business he left in 2002 saddened by the increasing
negativity inherent in a large
number of so called 'games'. Both felt there was a
need for something that redressed
the balance and gave to the world a game that was
positive and life
enhancing, whilst still being great fun to play. The idea for Gift of Enlightenment was given to David very early one morning as he lay dozing and contemplating the future. He got up immediately and with cards, scissors, paper and crayons, began to make the board and game cards. By lunchtime on that very first day a prototype was successfully being played. 'It really was a sudden and compelling flash of inspiration', says David. 'In my mind's eye I could see the board, the cards and the pieces, and I seemed to know intuitively how the game should be played. When I began to make the game it was as if I was creating something I had already played. It was a very strange, and very spiritual experience.' Annette had no doubt that the game was a gift, the reaction of friends who played the first prototype was more than proof that something very special had been created. The idea of giving the winning player a healing 'Gift' also came quickly. Annette immediately set to work to write the 'Book of Enlightenment' that accompanies the game, and despite having never written a book before the words for the healing messages seemed to come easily and naturally. Once the first full prototype was ready David and Annette embarked on an extensive program of play testing to check that Gift of Enlightenment' worked well as a game, as well as a life healing tool. The game was played extensively with both friends and strangers, of all ages and with varied backgrounds and interests. The response was fantastic. During this process the game play was tweaked until they were confident that the product was right. 'From there on,' says Annette, 'we just seemed to find the right people just when we needed them. In fact this has continued, something that has reinforced our belief that Gift of Enlightenment is a very special game indeed' David and Annette are now focusing Veritas' efforts on the Sales, Marketing & Distribution of Gift of Enlightenment from the company's new offices in Cheltenham. They will also be exhibiting the game at most leading Mind, Body & Spirit, Game, Gift, and Lifestyle Exhibitions in the UK, as well as selected exhibitions in the USA and are looking forward to meeting people and showing them the game.
