Avalonia Peace Gardens and Nature Retreat, a project of the non-profit Avillion is dedicated to promoting the healing arts, creative living and world peace.

This beautiful mountainside of 30 acres nestled in the Shenandoah Valley is an evolving, open-air classroom. We welcome all who honor life, the animal kingdom, and our planet to visit and become involved in our various activities. 

We at Avillion have big dreams—dreams we want to include you in helping us make a reality. 

We want to turn our woods into an open-air classroom—a labyrinth of sorts—where people would walk and meditate at key points on those who have done the most to preserve our earth and to preserve world peace. 

We dream of  developing a retreat center where people can learn about sustainable living, spirituality, and how to practice peace. 

We dream of providing special needs children with a place to be creative and to learn to be at peace with their life situation.

We dream of providing all who seek—but especially the young, and the physically and emotionally handicapped—the opportunity to become inspirationally creative from the place of a peaceful self, and thereby help transform this world into a peaceful one.

Introduction

Avalonia is located in the Shenandoah Valley on a wooded mountain side amidst magnificent rock formations. It is within easy driving distance to and from Washington D.C.

Avalonia is a project of the Avillion Corporation.  Avillion functions as a Non-Profit 501©(3) Educational Organization and its goal is to provide aid and true service to Nature, Humanity & Spirituality. To this aim the Avalonia Sanctuary with its Peace Gardens offers Alternative Holistic Healing Arts for Soul, Spirit, Body and Mind. Spiritual and environmental education is offered to inspire an "ever expanding reverence of all Life" by combining Nature, Creativity, and Art.  

Careful landscaping of the grounds will provide a natural secluded environment for the various healing activities that help to revive the imagination.  In the near future we also wish to provide Animal Interaction on its neighboring Horse and/or Llama Farms.
 

I. OUTDOOR SANCTUARY- World Peace Healing Gardens  [top]

Existing acreage is to be conserved and preserved while maintaining the integrity of its natural habitat. Landscaped pathways lead to certain areas dedicated for relaxation and meditation. A Labyrinth with meditation areas are to be dedicated to the most noted Peace Makers of our time.   

This Peace Garden is to be an Avillion Youth project.  A particular spot is to serve as an Open Air Classroom. Children from the Art Sparks program will benefit from all of it, but particularly "all young people" who seek a safe place to find themselves within a natural healing environment.  Thus,  are given the opportunity to become inspirationally creative from within a peaceful self and thereby change this world into a peaceful one. 

The entire Nature Sanctuary provides a Safe Haven for the Healing Arts.

II. AVALONIA HEALING ARTS    [top]

It is our intent to expose individuals to the "World of Nature" and offer activities and programs within the natural setting of its wildlife habitat. To achieve this Avalonia combines Art and Nature as Therapy. This combination sparks the imagination and artistic expression bridge language barriers and provide healing with love. Nature is also Art and Art itself is a natural expression from the heart. Combining both elements makes it possible to open hearts and minds to larger possibilities.

To this aim Avalonia will provide a variety of alternative holistic programs and educational activities that enhance personal awareness of healing and in creating a healthy environment. The individual is given the opportunity to move from theory to practice and to integrate the experience into conscious living of everyday life. All activities serve as a spiritual bridge between the idealistic, philosophical, cultural and natural to the fast moving non connected life in a High Tech Society. Avalonia's foundation is "energy conscious" and therefore offers "insight into energy conservation" on the various levels of internal and external life.
