Tibetan Treasures - and its Sacred Art
This page will evolve further, since we do not only wish to sell thang-kas. Instead we would like to share our love and respect for Tibet and its treasured Art. Above all, we support the most worthwhile cause of building schools in Tibet which is the purpose of the CHILDREN OF TIBET TRUST FOUNDATION and its founder: Achi Tsepal pictured below with Tibetan children in the remote village of Drikung.

To help nourish and educate children is a cause of utmost importance. Let us help the young generation and the children on the roof of this world! Please visit: www.ChildrenofTibetTrust.org.  (It is a 501(c )(3) Charitable Organization.) While visiting the site you will also find details about trips to Tibet. Achi organizes such tours, not only to Tibet’s special sites but above all to the schools where you can meet the children.

About Thangkas:
Thangkas are not only an excellent representation of "Tibet's Sacred Art," but also convey Peace, Harmony, and Healing and inspire the attainment of Enlightenment. This sacred art is a perfect representation of the "peace loving people of Tibet." As each thank comes to us and ultimately finds its home, prayers are sent forth for "Freedom, Liberty and Peace for Tibet and all Tibetans".

From time to time we manage to find some genuine thangkas that we can offer for purchase. It is our aim to offer this sacred art to those who feel a special connection or attraction to them. We have had a small collection of Thangkas: old ones, older and contemporary. It takes us a while to locate the right ones and we find them in all different locations. The artists are Tibetans of present and past Tibet, or those who live in exile.

Thangkas are traditional Tibetan Buddhist Temple Hangings. In some way they are similar to Greek or Russian icons. Thangkas are intended to convey many blessings, whether they are in a temple, in a home as a treasured piece of art or as a center piece in the meditation room. Basically, Thangka paintings are a geometric devotional expression of prayer, worldly or spiritual truth or portray the spiritual history of Tibetan Buddhist Saints. The tradition is to use mineral paints and lots of gold leaf.

Our Little Thangka Gallery

The following Thangkas are older, are in their traditional Tibetan Silk frame and some are unframed. Older thangkas project a very powerful atmosphere, in that they are a spiritual expression in sacred geometry. Over time the energy given off increases.   Click on the picture for enlargement & further details.  Presently we have no Thangkas available for purchase.   But, we will continue to search for Thangkas like those in our gallery below.
